Edinburgh Waverly http://scotland.react.dk Two danes in the UK traffic, in search of the truth behind "driving on the proper side of the road" Mon, 18 Feb 2008 12:47:56 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.3.2 en Sorry.. http://scotland.react.dk/?p=16 http://scotland.react.dk/?p=16#comments Mon, 18 Feb 2008 12:47:56 +0000 fedlarm http://scotland.react.dk/?p=16 Just want to appoligize for not updating.. Well our story about NED is soon to be finished I promise.

Further i can tell that we are working on a flash gallery that recieves images from flickr.. very cool :) And two days ago we where in Edinburgh, which was pretty amazing. A lot of old churches and castles among the old buildings in the city, but the best i guess was cool pubs they had. Everybody are welcome theese places, which gives this great atmosphere that brings you in a good mood.

Last here are a couple of images you can enjoy..

An image of a burnout blacksmith in Kirckaldy.

It’s like I’m in another country! http://scotland.react.dk/?p=14 http://scotland.react.dk/?p=14#comments Thu, 07 Feb 2008 16:58:59 +0000 Simon http://scotland.react.dk/?p=14 trafficsigns1.jpg

- Notice how this sign is indeed not written in danish. This is a trend I’ve seen on all signs around here. Hmm.

- Nope, this photo has not been inverted. Notice the direction of the arrows guiding traffic into this roundabout. To a resident of the UK this would be the poper way of conducting traffic. Based on the assumption driving on the left is the correct way of doing things.

Is this the proof of NEDs excistens? http://scotland.react.dk/?p=10 http://scotland.react.dk/?p=10#comments Wed, 06 Feb 2008 19:57:15 +0000 fedlarm http://scotland.react.dk/?p=10 Today we were out taking pictures of Kirkcaldy. When we came home and looked through the pictures we found a shocking picture that we’ll never forget!! Right here between our photos there is a blurry image of what we would like to think is a NED!! It has to be, cause it sure aint human.

As the matter of fact, this seems to be the best photograf so far of a NED:

The proof of NED?

No one knows if there are such things as NEDs. But a lot of eyewitnesses have claimed to see NED. This is the story of Mr. and Mrs. Spicer who were the first to see a NED:

Mr. and Mrs. Spicer were travelling home to London on the 22nd July 1933, after a holiday in the North of Scotland. They were driving along the single track undulating road between Dores & Foyers at 4pm, when they saw something about 200m ahead. The encounter is described in Mr. Spicer`s letter to the local newspaper ‘Inverness Courier’:

“I saw the nearest approach to a NED that I have ever seen in my life. It crossed my road about fifty yards ahead and appeared to be drinking bottles and yelling something a human could not understand. It sounded mostly like a scream filled with sadness.

It seemed to have something on the head like a scarf or a hat of somekind; As it moved so rapidly we had a hard time identifying it or see what it really were.

I am wondering if you can give me any information about it, and am enclosing a stamped addressed envelope anticipating your kind reply.

Whatever it is, and it may be a alien, a mutant or a human evolution that dont belong here, I think it should be destroyed, as I am not sure whether I had been quite so close to it I should have cared to tackle it. It is difficult to give you a better description, as it moved so swiftly, and the whole thing was so sudden. There is no doubt it exists”.

It sure is disturbing. We will continue to seek the truth about NED. What is NED? Where does it come from? Will it be friendly? And what does the letters N-E-D stand for?

It’s alive! http://scotland.react.dk/?p=8 http://scotland.react.dk/?p=8#comments Tue, 05 Feb 2008 23:07:47 +0000 Simon http://scotland.react.dk/?p=8 This just in. Yes. It is confirmed. You cannot break an IBM ThinkPad!

Today I took my T43 apart in search of any visible damage inside of it in hope of being able to repair it. I found this:

T43 Mobo Damage

Notice how the motherboard is scorched and corroded from the tasty fluids that found their way inside.

After a bit of filing away at it with a screwdriver, blowing and wiping most of the sod and corrotion away, I put the trusty laptop back togther and tried out turning it on once more.

Eurika! - I Almost can’t belive it’s working!

Lucky me :)

Simon lost his future http://scotland.react.dk/?p=7 http://scotland.react.dk/?p=7#comments Mon, 04 Feb 2008 17:48:05 +0000 fedlarm http://scotland.react.dk/?p=7 It looks like we have to wait for that article on NEDs for a while. Simons laptop seems to be out of function this morning. Whatever happened nobody seems to know. All we know right now is that there is an empty bottle of Simons gin on the table.

IBM Laptop R.I.P (I hope its not that bad :/)

Cheers! http://scotland.react.dk/?p=3 http://scotland.react.dk/?p=3#comments Fri, 01 Feb 2008 21:09:52 +0000 fedlarm http://scotland.react.dk/?p=3 Abbotshall roadI’ll just write our first post since its almost a week ago that we arrived here. So what have we been doing? and what is this for anyway?

Well this blog will work as a diary thing for us, which hopefully will help ourselves remember the things we see, learn at school and stuff like that. Please write some comments, so this blog can live a little. We will see if we can get some locals to leave a comment as well so you can get a touch of Scotland.

First of all one of the differences that we properbly wont get used to is the left side driving the got here. I dont know how many times we have walked right in front of a car and looked the other way after cars. Amazing we’re still alive… and yes i like my insurance right now.

The beer here is absolutely cheap here. Actually you can get a beer here for just about 1£ at a pub. And for 4£ you get a beer & a burger (a real non-McD burger). Guess where we’re going to be eating many of our dinners?

So what are we going to do at the school? Yesterday we had interactive Fiktion, wich means we are going to develope a game in flash were the story line is in focus. We also had lessons in data driven website, but I think we’re going to skip these lessons because we already got that covered back in Denmark.

Today we attend lessons in OOP which is great. We actually learn JAVA in these lessons, which i think is great, ’cause it is much simular to Actionscript 3.0 which also is an OO language. Because that our OO lessons were parallel to the 3D modelling & Animation lessons we could not start there today. In the 3D lessons we learn to model 3D of course but also to use the 3D for game developement and get some theory behind 3D game developement as well in other lessons wich will start on monday called Interactive Game Design.

I guess thats it for now. Take care. Hopefully the next posts wont be as long as this one, because we will try to update more often. And futhermore we are working on a Flash version of the site so comments will become a more importent part of the site.

bye bye..
